Infrastructure and Society in Latin America
Justin Castro is an associate professor and chair of the Department of History at Arkansas State University. He works predominantly on the history of technology in Latin America. His most recent book is Apostle of Progress: Modesto C. Rolland, Global Progressivism, and the Engineering of Revolutionary Mexico (Nebraska 2019).
At the Linda Hall Library, Castro is researching Latin American books, journals, and engineering society papers for a book manuscript under contract with Johns Hopkins University Press titled History of Technology in Latin America. It is a broad work that focuses on the intersections of technology, nation-state construction, globalization, identity, and inequality.
