Revaluing Viability: Legumes and Science in Indian Agriculture
Iris Yellum is a PhD candidate in South Asian Studies at Harvard University working on the history of grain legume improvement in India. Her research interests are in Indian agrarian heritage, the history of botanical collection from India, and the governance of biodiversity. She was a visiting scholar at the Science and Justice Research Center, University of California, Santa Cruz for fall 2019 and winter 2020. Her research has been funded by the American Institute of Indian Studies, Harvard University GSAS Graduate Society, and Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute at Harvard University.
During her time at the Linda Hall Library, Iris will be researching agricultural sciences conference proceedings and newsletters.
